Dr. David McDonough
Dr. David McDonough was raised in West Jordan and Murray, Utah. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science and Health from Southern Utah University and the University of Utah. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the highly regarded Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California.
Following dental school, Dr. McDonough completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics. He then pursued advanced specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Colorado Denver, completing a rigorous 27-month residency program. During his time there, he earned a Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, achieved board certification from the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), and was honored with the Outstanding Resident Award.
Dr. McDonough is an active member of the Utah Association of Orthodontists, the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontics. He also co-founded a statewide orthodontic study group focused on continued learning and professional collaboration.
Known by many as “Dr. Dave,” he lives in Sandy, Utah with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children. He feels privileged to work alongside a talented and experienced team, and he is passionate about staying at the forefront of orthodontic technology to provide the best possible care for his patients. Dr. Dave values the relationships he builds with each patient and truly enjoys the variety of personalities he encounters every day.
